Should i get a handbag/Tote or a Book bag?

Im going to be a freshman in high school this year and im not sure if u should buy a large hand bag/tote or bookback. Im Considering buyin a northface daypack or this

im really afraid that the one from urban outfitters wont be big enough and wont last. plz help im really nervous about high school and i dont want to be the loser with the big bookbag but i also dont want to have to carry things that dont fit

pros-looks cool, might fit a laptop, perfect for books and text books, ect
cons-might hurt your shoulder, not have alot of room
the hand bag and tote thing is theh same (tis really cute though!!!)- it might hurt your shoulder. and it probably wont hold alot of stuff. last year I had a tote and it didn’t fit alot of stuff. when I filled it too full, it looked REALLY weird becuase it was meant for things liked swimmings suits and library books little stuff or day thigns., not text books and big, bulky binders.This might change your mind. it is a basic backpack, with 3 compart ments. 1 for big books, binders, ect and 2 for pencils and pens, calculators etc. It is a Jansport so you know it will last a long time. and it has a leather bottom so there wont be any holes that will cause you to lost pencils etc. Padded shoulder straps makes sure you dont get sore arms and its cool looking! also, my favorite color–blue! but it comes in many different colors too
